We came across Khalil’s Proton Satria during one of our Sunday morning touge drives that we did together with #SATRIASOCIETY. What caught our attention at first was its color, a very popular Battleship Gray that is gaining popularity due to its rugged and rough-around-the-edges appeal. More and more cars are adopting this color but very few successfully pull it off and actually complete the whole theme of the car.
At Mcclubz, we are always on the lookout for unique, exotic cars that display the ultimate bond between Man and Machine. In our recent years as automotive enthusiasts ourselves, we have come across many people and many builds that truly show this bond, it’s something that is built overtime through hard work and determination.
A few months back while covering for a story at GT Auto in Sunway, we chanced upon this immaculate Mazda Lantis that was just loaded up onto the dyno for tuning. What caught our attention was how clean and detailed the engine bay was, sporting what appeared to be at first glance a Mitsubishi engine, but turned out to be a Mazda B8 turbocharged engine.
Djan and the team have bigger plans after this, they plan to compete in D1GP in China and also Formula Drift USA. But this also boils down to whether they can secure potential sponsorship and attain the right level of support. According to Djan, at this level, you have to be equipped with both the right tools and support or it's not worth doing at all. The team has been competing around the world since 2006 and for 2017, they look forward to focusing their efforts to more Drift competitions in Thailand, and what's equally exciting is the roadtrip to Buriram for the next Drift Competition.
Last Saturday we joined a group of Nissan Skyline R33 owners on a road trip down south to Jelebu via the winding b-roads of Kuala Klawang. The group, aptly named THIRTY THR33 TRIBE, is a group of R33 owners including various types across the whole platform; GTT, GTS and GTRs. All sharing the same passion for their R33 machines, built by Nissan between 1993 to 1997.
