Genting Rush V2 was an impromptu drive up to Chin Swee Temple’s Parking lot in Genting Highlands. After a whole week of work, meetings, and deadlines, we decided that it was high time for us to go for a drive!

As impromptu as it was (the banner was only posted up on Friday afternoon), a total of 20 plus cars managed to meet up at BHP Karak by 7:30am. As with most of these drives, there was a good mixture of cars that joined.

Amongst them were some Ford Fiestas, a VW Polo GTI, a nicely done up Audi TT by ATM Performance, a Peugeot 308, a couple of R33 Skylines, a Civic Type-R and the usual Satria and Myvi hatchbacks.

The drive began with a nice and winding drive along the Karak Highway. We regrouped at the first checkpoint, a layby as you exit the Karak Highway and enter the touge route leading up to Gohtong. The route leading up to Gohtong was fairly clear with the occasional lorries heading up to Genting.

All of the drivers were well behaved, abiding to the rules and regulations that we stated at the beginning of the drive. We ensure that road safety is always a priority whenever we go on drives like this.

As it was an early morning drive, the sun breaking through the clouds combined with some foggy areas made for a perfect scene for some touge action.

The spot in which we ended the drive is a huge parking lot with a breathtaking view of the mountains. We managed to snap a few photos before heading down to Gohtong for a some breakfast.

A big thank you to those who managed to get up in the wee hours of the morning to climb the mountains! We hope to see you again in more drives to come!
